I hope you're having a wonderful week! I agree, winter holidays are the best - quietest, and often the most beautiful times.

Lovely to hear you'll be in the great Sedbergh bookshop. I'll try and time one of my Cumbrian visits round it!

I can think of few finer places to be at this time of year than the 'Coast of the Gaels'. 2017 was about Dancing with the Cailleach so I'm sure she will remember and be around for a conversation or two! Maybe Old Crane Woman too??

Very glad indeed to know you are there.

Old Crane Woman is haunting me daily and shriekingly, and the ravens nesting on the crag above The Stables (where I am now and where some of you stayed back in 2017) have A LOT to say for themselves. The cave where I told the story of the Old Woman of the World has largely caved in, which feels equally mythic. But the essence of this place is still beauty, and I'll be back next year!

Sharon, thank you! For the UK 🇬🇧 places I have not yet been fortunate to travel to and experience ~ I have, vicariously, through you, through your writing. I love and respect your work. Xx

Enjoy your time away, both in Argyll and during your December quiet time. I look forward to what the next seasons bring.

I’m in Oxford, trying not to be jealous, having left Argyll yesterday, where I’d been staying for a birthday treat. I, too, love the dark and Winter and need to replenish my soul with regular visits North. Wishing you all the blessings of the season and marvellous conversations with An Cailleach!

Enjoy your time in Argyll and writing Sharon.

I am excited about the Hearth discussions for next year, as well as the Fairy Tale Salon. Always ready for an Arthurian themed tale!

Thank you also for the book recommendations - I have travelled up and down the Great North Road, then the A1, then the A1M for much of my life, going from where we lived in Anerley (SE London) to Glaisdale in North Yorkshire - which my parents called home. For the first 6 years of my life in a motor bike and side car. It took 12 hours and we went through every town and village but I have the fondest of memories. I'll definitely be ordering the book!

Warmest wishes and blessings of the season

Sharon - sounds familiar to me - the very necessary need to go somewhere remote, quiet and where you can focus ‘in’ as you say. May it be a time of great treasures.

Ahhh welcome to Argyll! I’ve got the tattoo shop in Oban! I literally downloaded three of your books on Audible a couple of days ago to binge. So I presume the Cailleach nudged that idea into place. Scattering your magical words across the winter landscape. How wonderful 🥰

Ha – walked past your shop on Friday afternoon and remember thinking it looked decidedly more welcoming than the dungeonesque vibe of most tattoo shops! Hope you enjoy the binge.

😂 Yes we are an all female business. Think more …..cozy living room, relaxing tunes, chat with a friend vibes! 😂 Your work is so inspiring, and I love it when ideas and concepts from one art form, cross over and express themselves as another. Thank you for your incredible work 🙏🏼

I've come from Southern Hemisphere Summer to Northern Hemisphere Winter (my firsf time in the Northern Hemisphere), and I love it. It helps that I'm staying in a warm house, but also it proves to me that I prefer the dark half of the year.

I’ve never been to the Southern Hemisphere. My life won’t feel complete until I do, however I can’t imagine feeling at one unless my permanent residence remains in the Northern H with the seasons and weather/climates as they are. Xx
