There’s something deeply affirming in your call to the “mythical misfits”—not as rebels, but as restorers. What I’ve seen, though, is that many people begin the mythic journey only to circle in abstraction or identity. They hunger for the soul of the story but resist the blade of clarity that severs illusion. Myth is powerful, yes—but without grounded discernment, it risks becoming another spiritual costume.

I appreciate your refusal to collapse into comfort or nostalgia. The ache for a different myth is real—but so is the danger of recreating the old one in softer language. Your elder voice doesn’t just remember—it reimagines with teeth. That’s rare.

Thank you for speaking from where you actually are, instead of where the performance of wisdom says we should be.

Hello. Even though I am not a paid subscriber the button for 25% off annual subscriptions is not active for me. I think it's just a glitch but I wondered is it possible to paste a link here in the comments please Sharon? Thank you.

A very interesting point about “modernity” and feeling out of joint with it. Some personality types it seems are inherently more oriented to the past, but I wonder is this also perhaps just part of aging, with so much more past behind us? I reject much of modernity too but tend to link what I do not like with my own culture (US) which is always hurrying to the next thing, abandoning the past. I imagine other cultures and modernities as very different (ie, better); but that’s all by-the-by I suppose since this is the one I live in.

For sure there’s a futility in refusing the spirit of the age unless you’re prepared to transform it. I guess that’s how I see my response to it. More than just ageing, as for me it’s always been there, as I said. But ageing doesn’t help. It certainly makes you less patient!

You “wax lyrical” soooo good! I just loooooove the way you write; the word choices you use to string together such gorgeous sentences blows my mind.

I noticed on the calendar page, September 9 (cited in this post) isn't mentioned, just August 29. Is there a session on September 9? Thanks.
